For the handicapper who wants the very best Past Performances.  Thoropredictor will be offering unlimited subscriptions to printable Past Performances.  These Past Performances will inlude Thoropredictor's Speed Rating numbers, race average and rankings of all horses in the race.  We believe that these Past performances which include the last 50 starts of all horses, will prove to be the most useful tools in the handicapping business.

Did you know that closers win more races than early speed horses!!  This is what we found after studying 1,000 races at seven different major race tracks over the last two months.  We developed two different formulas using our FORMULA BUILDER and found that we have more winners coming from off the pace than horses who were part of the pace.  The result is somewhat suprising because of the speed bias of some tracks.  The advantage was that closers win 58% of the time compared to 42% for the pace horses.  Again, with the power of the FORMULA BUILDER, we can develop many formulas to learn about patterns which give you the handicapper the edge.

When we have a field of expierienced horses in a race we have found that because horses form and abilities are so short lived, we often are best served by using Thoropredictor to filter for current form.  What we will often do is select Past Performances filter slider bar to latest 6 with the 3.  This means we are asking Thoropredictor to consider just the last 6 races while only considering the best three of those six.  As you can see, yesterday at Oak Tree in the 5th race this method predicted the top three horses!
